Liz Maskey was born in the Whiterock area of West Belfast. She talks about her memories of 1969 and how it impacted on her. Liz remembers clearly the siege of St Matthew's where she was a volunteer for the Knights of Malta. Liz was the first woman interned in the conflict in 1973. She talks about her arrest and imprisonment in Armagh Jail. She describes the setting up of republican structures in the jail that were essential to the women asserting themselves as political prisoners.
