Laurence Mc Keown is a writer and republican ex-prisoner. He recalls his memories of discrimination growing up in Randalstown. He joined the IRA at age seventeen. In 1977 he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He joined the hunger strike in 1981 and went 70 days without food. He was removed from the hunger strike through family intervention. In the interview Laurence speaks about the experience of protesting for political status in jail. Laurence was released from prison in 1992.
