Brenda Murphy, a writer and republican ex-prisoner, talks about growing up in the Lower Falls. Brenda attended St Comgall’s Primary School and remembers the day Ian Paisley came onto the Falls Road to remove the Tricolour. She talks about her imprisonment in Armagh Jail and about her involvement in the prisoners’ campaign for political status including the no work and no wash protests. Brenda describes the traumatic circumstances of the birth of her baby while in prison.
